Home care can be expensive, but there are programs available to you, if you qualify.
At Regency Senior Care, our goal is to provide superior service for your loved one so they can remain independent at home for as long as possible. Funding in-home care can be difficult at times so we are providing here ideas for you to research further to help your loved one remain in their own home.
Long–term care insurance
A Long-term care insurance policy ensures that you can make your own choices about what long-term care services you receive and where you receive them. Many times the long term care insurance is attached to an existing policy as a "rider". Check with your loved one or their insurance provider to see if coverage is available.
Reverse mortgages
A "reverse" mortgage is a loan against your home that you do not have to pay back for as long as you live there. With a reverse mortgage, you can turn the value of your home into cash without having to move or to repay the loan each month. Most people want to stay in their own homes so the reverse mortgage is a viable option if equity exists. AARP has further information LINK TO AARP.
Veterans administration
If your loved one served in the military. The Vetrans Administration may have programs for you.

State and local programs
Nearly all states and counties offer some assistance to seniors in the form of information or actual support. Additionally, you can check if your community has an Area Agency on Aging by checking HERE. These programs are usually income or asset based, however, many are not. Your local Regency Senior Care Agency may have access to the “right people” to contact for assistance.
